TRANSPORT
Brno is well served by road, rail and air transport.
A bus (subject to demand) may be provided at a specific time at Vienna airport on 30 August to convey participants to Brno. If you are interested in using special bus connection (from Vienna), you should confirm your interest in Booking form for accommodation.

AIR TRANSPORT
Direct flights from London (Stansted) to Brno airport. Direct shuttle buses from Brno airport, Prague airport (200 km), Vienna airport (140 km) to Brno (hotel Continental – venue of the Symposium).
Brno airport - the international airport of category I. ICAO (runway length 2 650 m, width 60 m) is situated 7.5 km from the centre of the city, and allows operation even during the windiest of conditions. Thanks to its very good meteorological conditions, the airport acts as the main reserve airport for Prague.
The international airports in Prague and Vienna, which are served by most airlines, can be reached by car in approximately two hours.

RAIL TRANSPORT
Brno is one of the most important Central-European rail junctions, as it is situated on the international Balkan - Budapest - Prague - Berlin - Scandinavia rail route.
Euro City trains on the Vienna to Prague route have stopped at Brno since 1991, and the City of Brno is taking an active part in the VRT, a project for the creation of a European network of high-speed rail routes. The average number of passengers using the main railway station in Brno is approx. 70 000. The value handling/year totals almost 3m tonnes of goods. In Brno there is a large container transfer area, managed by ČSKD - Intrans Brno.

ROAD TRANSPORT
Brno is situated at the crossroads of the D1 (Prague - Brno) and D2 (Brno - Bratislava) motorways. Both these motorways form part of the trans-European East-West highways (France - Ukraine: E50) and North-South (Scandinavia - Balkans: E55, E65).

The city has a total of 803 km of roads, of which 184 km are national and 619 km are local roads. Local roads are the property of the City of Brno.
