Dear colleagues,
I have the honour of inviting you to Brno to attend the 38th International Danube Symposium for Neurological Sciences and Continuing Education in Neurology.
Since the 1960s, the goal of the Danube Symposia has been to promote the exchange and spread of information about neurology throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The Danube Symposia were an important factor in increasing the level of neurology knowledge across the Iron Curtain. The present goals of the Danube Symposia are the facilitation of research activities in neurological sciences and the spread of up-to-date neurological information and skills.
The goals of the 38th Symposium are to be a scientific programme and to teach junior neurologists from Central, South-East and Eastern Europe modern knowledge of neurology. The Symposium should encourage the improvement of care for patients with neurological diseases.
We would like to offer participants teaching courses in epileptology, movement disorders and cognitive disturbances, composed of large platform sessions, as well as smaller "skills transfer" sessions. The participation of young neurologists from across Central, South-East and Eastern Europe will be encouraged.
We are delighted to be able to invite you to the charming city of Brno, with its historical monuments, exciting cultural life, museums and universities - to the city where genetics were born, surrounded by beautiful landscape where the best wine in the country is produced.
We look forward to having you with us in Brno in the spring of 2006.
Yours faithfully,

Prof. Dr. Ivan Rektor
President of the Organising Committee
