Student grants

We are happy to announce a rich sponsorship programme for students. Students can apply for one of five types of financial support. Deadline for student grants is May 31, 2015. The decision will be made and the successful applicant will be notified by mid-June 2015. Applicants should provide the following information: (1) abstract of the contribution (title, authors, summary), (2) motivation letter (name, work address, position, reasons for requesting the grant), (3) curriculum vitae (with publication list). 1. Organising committee student grants

We are pleased to pay back the student congress fee to several most deserving students. bachelor, master and PhD students are eligible to apply. The congress scientific committee will evaluate applications.

2. Pensoft sponsorship program for young arachnologists

Pensoft is happy to offer a master or PhD student one grant of the maximal amount of €350 (covering congress fee and accommodation). The financial support will be given to a promising student who shows excellence in research and presents interesting results that will make a significant contribution to the knowledge of arachnids. Priority will be given to needful students coming from low-income European countries. The grant winner will be selected on the basis of (1) the importance and relevance of the research question, (2) the originality of the research in terms of the hypotheses/research questions addressed, novel technology/methodology, and/or novel applications of current technology/methodology, (3) the novelty of the achieved results, and (4) the qualifications of the applicant. Pensoft will evaluate applications.

3. GIA student grant

Grupo Ibérico de Aracnologia (GIA) is pleased to offer one student grant that covers the congress fee and accommodation. Bachelor, master and PhD students that are members of GIA (please, check this link about how to join GIA: are eligible to apply. The congress scientific committee will evaluate applications.

4. CAS grants

Czech Arachnological Society (CAS) offers several grants to cover the congress fee for students and retired CAS members. CAS bureau will evaluate applications.

5. BAS Funding

British Arachnological Society offers a small number of travel grants available only to members applying to the Ted Locket Memorial Fund. This ongoing fund supports travel for students, retired and the unemployed.
